ORIGINAL PENGUIN WELCOMES PGA TOUR® PLAYER NICO ECHAVARRIA TO ITS TOUR STAFF

(Miami, FL) — Original Penguin Golf, a division of Perry Ellis International, is excited to announce the signing of PGA TOUR® Player Nico Echavarria as a brand ambassador. Echavarria is making his PGA Tour debut this season wearing Original Penguin’s Spring 2023 collection.

“We are thrilled to welcome Nico as our next Original Penguin brand ambassador,” said Oscar Feldenkreis, CEO of Perry Ellis International. “Nico is a very talented player whose style, personality and international background makes him a perfect fit for our Original Penguin team.”

“I am excited to partner with an iconic brand like Original Penguin. For me to be able to wear a brand that was made famous by golf and cultural legends is an honor,” stated Nico. “With Original Penguin’s classic fit, fashionable designs, performance materials and attention to detail, there’s no doubt I’ll be looking my best both on and off the course.”

An All-American at the University of Arkansas, former member of the Colombian World Amateur Team and winner of both the Mexican Amateur and South American Championship, Nico earned his 2023 Tour card by finishing 20th on the 2022 Korn Ferry Tour points list. Nico has also graced the winners circle with two professional victories on the PGA TOUR Latinoamerica tour and is off to a fast start in 2023 with a T-12 at the Sony Open in Hawaii where he shot 4 rounds in the 60’s.

Nico joins 2022 Open Champion Cameron Smith as Original Penguin brand ambassadors, along with PGA TOUR professionals Danny Lee and Augusto Nunez also sporting the iconic brand. “We continue to grow the Original Penguin brand from the PGA, LPGA and Korn Ferry TOUR, with even more of the best players in the world wearing the Penguin icon,” added Feldenkreis.

Original Penguin and Pete the Penguin have left their mark on a league of legends. For over 60 years, our namesake bird has been adorned and adored by the masters of leisure and sport to define itself as an American classic. Today, the Penguin icon still stands as a signal for those who know how to be an original.
